Wings Of Love

by Evelyn on February 5, 2009

Sitting on the back of a butterfly is a pair of wings in the shape of two loving hearts. They glow in flaming red, a-flutter in great excitement. The butterfly has been on a journey of dancing loops and circles, of wondrous adventures. It is joyous!! It finds itself drawn to a tiny planet called Earth. Earth is the place where it manages to experience who it really is. It is where its spirit comes alive!!

All on Earth is Energy, the butterfly realizes. All on Earth is connected. All on Earth is really One. (The depiction is a spherical planet energy of One). Through its wings-of-hearts, the butterfly also hopes to share its beauty, love and essence with all there-is in existence.

Jeff from My Supercharged Life, in his comments to my last post referred me to an awesome site that does logos; but by then, I have already spend hours reflecting over what I would like the design to be. Thanks also to Christopher for egging me on to put back my butterfly icon and to Robin who offered to help by giving me a few pointers about thesis via Skype.

In tandem with the renewal of my site, I thought I might as well ask for some creative inspiration on a new symbolic icon. The result from two late nights is what you see now sitting on the top of my site.

Caught in the Wind

The butterfly has flown in countless winds. It knows every breeze there-is. One particular breeze it has flown by quickly, breathes an air of mystic. A scatter of of olive green leaves rustles and swirls in its whistling trail.

Each leaf, in the scatter, tells a story. Each leaf bears a record. Each leaf has freed itself from a twig that springs from the page of an opened Book.

It is no ordinary book, by the way!

*Hush* A sacred one.

You can’t find it anywhere physically. For it exists only at the etheric level.

It is what many called – the Book of Life!

The story of the scattering leaves continues next week. Watch for it!!!

Evelyn! Yes! Yes to your new logo. Yes to your poetic post. Yes to your sense of renewal. And yes to your love of wings.

Fondly,
Christopher

Evelyn February 5, 2009 at 11:54 pm

Christopher,

*Groan* I spent waaaaay too much time just drawing the loops and circles for my new header. Still, I must say that if you have not asked me about putting up my old butterfly icon, I would not have given much thought to what visual image I would like my site to represent. So thanks for providing me the impetus to come up with a creative inspired picture!!

Oh yes, it is obvious, isn’t it??? The icon tells it all. I celebrate my sense of renewal and my love for wings!!

To freedom always,
Evelyn

You say you spent so much time on it- I say you poured your love into – that takes time. It shows. I love it Evelyn!

Your story about the butterfly is truly beautiful, Evelyn – and so is your artwork! – I’m glad you spent waaaay too much time drawing loops and circles. Your opening paragraph bears quite a resemblance to the story of consciousness described in The Starseed Transmissions – which I love!

Thanks for the link – it was lovely talking to you, though disappointing that the Skype connection wasn’t too good.

love from Robin

@Jay, you’re right about it being a labor of love. I’m glad that you like my header!!

@Juliet, it made me smile too!! I like it for its somewhat whimsical feel.

@Vered, you’ve been supportive of what I do….thank you!!

Evelyn February 6, 2009 at 8:54 am

@Kelly, it’s already an amazing start!! May your year be filled with love, joy and inspiration too!!

@Robin, Starseed Transmissions? I have no idea what it is. I have to go check it up!! I enjoyed talking to you too. It’s so nice to finally see your face, the exact picture of someone that I have been drawn to on the web!!

Lance February 6, 2009 at 11:39 am

Hi Evelyn,
I really love your new logo! And that the butterfly is made up of two hearts – it’s like an added bit of extra love coming here every time I vist – and that’s a wonderful feeling for me!

I’m looking forward to the continuing story…

Mary Madeline February 6, 2009 at 11:50 am

Hi Evelyn,

What a beautiful concept – I love butterflies myself. My garden is filled with them in the summer. You have come out of the “cocoon” and become a butterfly…… Love it, Love it, Love it.

Blessings,

Mary Madeline

Beautiful! Such order and wisdom in nature. And each leaf an integral part of this great universe of love.

Daphne February 6, 2009 at 1:23 pm

Evelyn, I am very impressed with your new logo! It’s both symbolic and beautiful, the very essence of what a good logo should be. You go girl!

Evelyn February 6, 2009 at 3:10 pm

@Lance, you always have beautiful words to say everytime you come to my site. Thanks for letting me know about the positive energy my posts are exuding.

@Mary, it must be a beautiful sight to behold in summer for you!! Thanks for liking the header I’ve done.

@Jannie, it’s true that there is so much wisdom in nature. For that, I’d like to bring more nature pictures onto my site to share inspired words.

@Daphne, thanks for your warmest compliments!! My heard-shaped winged butterfly is positively glowing in happiness now!!

Hi Evelyn – Your new look is fabulous and I LOVE the logo. It’s so you. I’ll be checking in to read your “scattering leaves”

Suzie Cheel February 6, 2009 at 5:23 pm

I just love that you found that photo with the heart- reminds we of when I saw a heart in the clouds. I loved your logo when I saw it yesterday and I assumed you were a natural graphic artist or had used a VA- I am looking forward to the continuing story of the scattering leaves

Love & blessings
Suzie

Davina February 6, 2009 at 5:27 pm

Hi Evelyn. All the time you spent creating that logo has paid off. It is beautiful. I’ll be watching for the story of the scattering leaves.

Jocelyn February 6, 2009 at 5:55 pm

I like that logo! :-) simple yet means a lot. The butterfly’s wings aside from being like beautiful hearts also look like a blossoming flower.

J.D. Meier February 6, 2009 at 11:32 pm

Renewal and wings is the way to go!

Mary Madeline February 7, 2009 at 4:02 am

Hi Evelyn,

One of my favorite things to do is to take pictures of the butterflies, dragonflies, frogs, flamingos, horses, flowers etc. (my minor was photography) – If you would like, you can use my photos in your blog – it would be an honor to share the beauty. Some of my photos can be find around my web site or ask me to see more.

Love,

Mary Madeline

Evelyn February 7, 2009 at 9:33 am

@Barbara, is the logo so me??? I didn’t realize that…lol!!

@Suzie, I created the butterfly myself using photoshop. I could not find a suitable photo for the image I had in my mind and had to draw it in the end. Other than a cert in graphic design taken as a hobby taken like more than 15 years ago, I have no relevant schooling. However, I have to admit that I have always enjoyed art or creative pursuits.

@Jocelyn, do the wings look like a flower? I didn’t realize that. My alternative idea for a header was a flower, by the way. I love flowers!!

@Davina, thank you! I am happy to know that you like my header.

Evelyn February 7, 2009 at 9:42 am

@J.D. Meier, I laughed about the “wings”. Just yesterday, I gave a idea which has something to do with flying, to some friends for a tagline and header that can be used for their new website. I must be into flying these days!!

@Mary, I’d be happy to share your photos on my site. In practising awareness, I have already set the intention to capture all little parts of nature and my surroundings through photography. Do you have a flickr account? Check mine out at http://www.flickr.com/limevelyn.

sambit February 7, 2009 at 11:53 am

The multicolors of the continents are based on the deep and serene blue sea. Hush ! No commentary. The play is on. The energetic, eager, vibrant and emotional heart shaped wings of the butterfly is not landing on it lest it disturbs the play. It keeps on wings respectfully and takes a peep. It does not have to own the earth, a soulful peep can enrich it without making the earth any poorer for it. I love the logo.

Diane February 7, 2009 at 11:54 am

Hi Evelyn,

I love your poetry…It made me feel like flying!
Soaring…like I lifted off right then and there.

Thanks for the picture you left in my mind with such eloquence and thoughtfulness.

Mary Madeline February 7, 2009 at 12:42 pm

Hi Evelyn,

Checked out your flickr account – You have some lovely pics of your girls! They have a lot of fun . . . (have two boys myself)
Have an EFT workshop tomorrow and busy week ahead, but after that I will sit down an open a flickr account. Will let you know when I have photos up. = ) Thank you for the idea.

Have a blessed weekend,

Mary Madeline

Tempting and inspiring post

Buddha of Hollywwod February 8, 2009 at 3:33 pm

The beginning of a wonderful story!
I love butterfly they are like flying flowers!
Be loved!

Evelyn February 8, 2009 at 4:25 pm

@sambit, you wrote so beautifully that I could not help but imagine the butterfly soaking in the beauty of this Earth, not saying a word. In simply BEing and just hovering there, the butterfly itself becomes part of a bigger picture that enraptures the hearts of those looking on.

@Diane, it’s great to know that my picture took you on a flight!

@Mary, oh yes…do let me know when you’ve opened a flickr account. We can be flickr friends!! Have a blessed weekend too!

@ITA ATING, thanks for sharing about what a butterfly symbolizes. I didn’t know that!!

@The Journey Within, I’m happy to know that you are inspired!

@Buddha, what a beautiful description!! I never thought of it before but you are right! The wings of the butterfly can certainly look like the petals of a flower.

Tom Volkar / Delightful Work February 9, 2009 at 1:33 am

One of the most admirable and beautiful things about you is your willingness to put yourself out there authentically. This image fits you very well.

dolores February 9, 2009 at 3:33 am

I am enjoying this site :)

deepikaur February 9, 2009 at 8:19 am

Love it! Love it all! The logo, the story, the entire blog! :)

Evelyn February 9, 2009 at 8:27 am

@Tom, the image does??? I didn’t realize that! Thanks :-)

@dolores, welcome welcome!! I’m glad that you enjoy the articles here.

@deepikaur, I’m most flattered by your compliments. (I can hear my ego talking!!) Thanks!!

Evita February 9, 2009 at 9:02 am

Hi Evelyn!

Oh this logo is so delicate and beautiful indeed! And yes as Tom said you are putting yourself out very authentically. You are sharing your thoughts with all of us and having our input into all of your creative ideas. I think that indeed says a lot about you Evelyn and it makes us really touched to be a part of your new design and flow for the blog.

So way to go and thank you :)
