Can there be more to “how to win the lottery” than simply a game of chance? Is luck the only factor in winning a lottery? Or can there be any truth to the often quoted saying by Roman Philosopher Seneca that “luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity”?

In case you are not already aware, Singapore is gripped with lottery fever at this time of the year. The prize is a jackpot of S$10 million (or US$7.1 million). The draw date? This Friday – February 26, 2010 – at 9pm. Long queues are reportedly seen at every ticketing booth this week.
