<p>I have just republished a video, with abundance affirmations that you can say along to.  When I reviewed my archives last week, I realized that there were 37 abundance affirmations embedded inside the video that I created some time ago.  So I updated it with new soothing music, my website address and proceeded to type out the affirmations (I could not find my original source file) from the video.</p>

Abundance Affirmation #24: I experience the world in all its glory!</strong></p>
<p>Indeed my life is one Big Adventure (see also Abundance Affirmation #26)!  In terms of travel, I have been lucky enough to have vacationed in many countries; including the United States, Mexico, Spain, England, France, Austria, Amsterdam, Italy, Australia, China, Thailand, Indonesia, and my neighboring country, Malaysia.  Even then, I am not quite down yet with half the world yet.  </p>
<p>Well, the June school holidays have just started!  It is time for a family vacation again!  I will be flying off to&#8230;..Tokyo this time (see my Travel Vision Board below).  I confess to being a big Disney fan, so I will be there to visit Disneyland and DisneySea.  </p>

<p>While there have been many times previously that I have traveled on budget, I am going to be holidaying in a little style this time&#8230;.flying on the Airbus 380 with Singapore Airlines and staying in the luxurious Sheraton that is situated on a bay overlooking the ocean.  My kids are also very excited about the trip!  </p>

<p>I compiled a list of affirmations for children recently from a wish to help mine with self-mastery and positive programming .  As adults, many of our limiting thought patterns can be attributed to childhood conditioning or having unconsciously adopted negative societal beliefs.  While we look for ways to help realign ourselves, how about starting with a better way forward in our children?  </p>

<p>Most certainly, we can help our kids with instilling good values, confidence, focus and belief.  Positive affirmations for children can do a lot to assist them in developing healthy self esteem.  We can also target some for the purposes of having an easier time with their school work. </p>

<p>The affirmation cards for my children were made with bright and fun colors.  I added some pictures of flowers, stars and patterned paper to a stack of blank cards in blue. Dr Joseph Murphy, its author, had illustrated how a boy harnessed the &#8220;law of attraction&#8221; to attract the money he needed for a medical degree. Hmmm&#8230;.I found it  interesting on how the use of the term can be traced to many years back, even before I was born!  </p>
<p>The recommendation from the book is to read your affirmation with emotion and visualization several times a day.  Here are two wealth affirmations found inside:</p>

<p><strong>The Prosperity Prayer. </strong> In January this year, Dr Joe Vitale, a cast member of The Secret movie, shared a prosperity prayer on his blog.  The prayer was passed to him by his friend, Will Bowen, who described it as &#8220;the greatest consciousness conditioner available to attract prosperity&#8221;.  In case you have not heard of Will Bowen, he is the author to the best-selling book <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0385524587?ie=UTF8&#038;tag=httwwwebizcom-20&#038;linkCode=as2&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=9325&#038;creativeASIN=0385524587">A Complaint Free World: How to Stop Complaining and Start Enjoying the Life You Always Wanted</a><img src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=httwwwebizcom-20&#038;l=as2&#038;o=1&#038;a=0385524587" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" />.  </p>
<p>Subsequently, someone pointed out that the prayer was originally written by <a href="http://www.positivechristianity.org ">Rev. Christopher Ian Chenoweth</a> from some years ago.  The prayer was a part of his famous &#8220;The Process&#8221; of Advanced Prosperity. Well, whoever wrote it, the prayer enjoyed a lot of attention from Dr Vitale&#8217;s large subscriber base, due to its beautiful words.  I give it the thumbs up too! </p>

It is most effective when you are ready to be reprogrammed positively. So each time, you repeat your wealth affirmation, you will not be in the trap of also affirming your negative ones at the tail end. <p>In between watching Wall-E, The Mummy III  and a Singapore production Money No Enough, I was in my Dreamworks studio (aka my study) working with &#8220;Zhang Yi Mou, Steven Spielberg and George Lucas&#8221; for two entire weekends.  Relying on a shoestring budget of less than $20, production of my Mind Movie wrapped up late yesterday.  While it could do with more editing, I have decided to roll the video out in conjunction with <a href="http://www.positivethinkingday.com/">Positive Thinking Day (Sept 13)</a>. The only reason why this post was not out earlier (like many hours ago) was because of Youtube having server maintenance; contributing to problems in uploading. </p>

<p><strong>A Word From the Producer</strong></p>
<p>Ahem&#8230;admittedly, I had a lot of help.  I sought the counsel of my angels, meditated for inspiration and creatively visualized for tips being handed to me by greatest movie makers of all time.  Since I had no previous experience in martial arts, &#8220;Zhang Yi Mou&#8221; taught me how to shoot jumping jacks instead.  &#8220;Steven Spielberg&#8221; was on the line, pointing out the importance of making it epic&#8230;at least with the right song and images. &#8220;George Lucas&#8221; had an advice or two about embedding spiritual wisdom and special effects into my production.  </p>
<p>You&#8217;ve got to view it to know what I&#8217;m talking about. Without further ado, let&#8217;s proceed with the screening, shall we?</p>

<p>Mental housekeeping is the act of taking care of your mental home.  Your mental home &#8220;houses&#8221; your mind, the seat of real authority that controls your total well-being.  We often pay close attention to our physical home but little to the state of our mental home.  Considering that our mental home holds the thoughts that can change our outer reality, this can be a real shame.  </p>
<p>I learnt the term &#8220;mental housekeeping&#8221; from the Silva Class I attended last year.  Mental housekeeping is needed because we have in our minds, many negative thoughts.  Everytime we say &#8220;I can&#8217;t&#8221;, &#8220;I will try&#8221;, or &#8220;I don&#8217;t want&#8221;, we are engaged in negative thinking. When we think negatively, we are not going to get what we desire.  This is also true, according to the Law of Attraction. Instead, we really should be focusing on what we want to bring about positive results.  </p>
<p>Your mind, which controls a lot of things about your physical body, holds thoughts that are handed down from the generations before you.  Additionally since the time that you were born, you have already received countless thoughts, impressions, ideas, prejudices and judgements.  Yet, much of what you have received to make your mental home, is accepted without questioning or further thought.   Hence, it can be said that you are really the result of past thinking. </p>
<p><span id="more-110"></span><br />
To weed yourself of unhelpful thoughts, mental housekeeping is a necessary process. If you have been feeling miserable and not gotten the success that you have been hoping for, then you will need to look to the root cause: the state of your mind or mental home. About 90 percent of your mental home is directed by the thinking that lies in your subconscious mind.  Not understanding this or accessing it for its powers can limit your true potentiality.  </p>
<p>For a nice happy physical home, you also need to cleanse, rejuvenate and decorate it beautifully.  Many people also apply Feng Shui into their homes.  Feng shui is an ancient Chinese practice, which utilizes both the Laws of both heaven (astronomy) and earth (geography), to help improve a person&#8217;s life.  It usually involves the practice of arranging objects (such as furniture) in the home or office and applying some techniques to bring in good health, wealth and improving personal relationships. I will be explaining more about how these can be applied to your mental home, as you really should not be treating it any differently from a physical one. </p>
<p>Since &#8220;8&#8243; or &#8220;fa&#8221; means to be prosperous in Chinese, I&#8217;ve written down 8 steps of what you can do specifically for mental housekeeping and to build a happy internal home that will attract luck and abundance:  </p>
<p><strong>1. Clear The Clutter. </strong>A home that has lots of clutter, such as toxic thoughts like fear, worry and anxiety, will be built on shaky ground and cannot thrive well.  Far from what you would normally believe, it is possible to &#8220;sweep&#8221; them away to make way for new and more empowering thoughts.  </p>
<p>Understandably while you may have understood the ills of having negative thoughts, you may find yourself clinging on to the habits of your past.  You have been conditioned to think negatively and so out of habit, you may catch yourself voicing out your negative thoughts often.   To clear these negative clutter, <a href="http://tinyurl.com/3dq9q8">The Silva Method</a> recommends that you use the words &#8220;cancel, cancel, cancel&#8221; as soon as you have uttered a negative word or phrase.  Thereafter, reaffirm what you desire in a positive manner.  <a href="http://tinyurl.com/3bkbxx">EFT</a> is another method that can help clear unwanted thoughts and emotions that are not helpful to your well being. </p>
<p><strong>2. Water For Cleansing. </strong> After clearing the clutter, it will be a good idea to do some form of cleansing, just like how you would mop the floor after sweeping.  Cleansing is a purifying process. </p>
<p>Here is something that was taught by <a href="http://tinyurl.com/3dq9q8">The Silva Method</a>: as you drink a glass of water, say this to yourself &#8220;this is all I need to cleanse my thoughts&#8221;, or &#8220;everytime I drink water, I cleanse my thoughts&#8221;.  Affirm these statements on a regular basis.  </p>
<p>You can also cleanse your mind by spiritually connecting yourself to your faith.  When you do this, you are infusing yourself with the healing energies of love, kindness and compassion. You are cleansing away toxic thoughts that do not serve humanity. A Spiritual connection can put you on a higher vibrational energy frequency. </p>
<p><strong>3. Keep Out Unwelcome Guests.  </strong>Just as you would not allow unwelcome guests in your physical home, you should do the same for your mental one.  When you allow unwelcome guests in mentally, you are risking the possibility of getting contaminated by them. You fail to turn the key to lock your door, to prevent the free flow of these unwanted guests.  </p>
<p>These unwanted thoughts come in the form of harmful thoughts from your environment.  They may be from the jealous emotions by a friend, excessive worry by a well meaning parent, or snide remarks from your boss or colleague.  All of them can have a negative impact on you.</p>
<p>Because you do not exercise control over who or what comes in, these thoughts can eventually to wear you down. When this happens, they are no longer &#8220;guests&#8221;.  They begin to form your belief system when you take them to be &#8220;permanent truths&#8221;.  With little control over them, they now take charge of your life.</p>
<p>A desired action, from now on, is to guard your mental home fearlessly and faithfully. Only invite the ones that are helpful in and keep out those that have the potential of contributing to a toxic home.  Have the courage to kick out those who have managed to enter but who are creating a nuisance. </p>

<p><strong>4. Strengthen With Positive Thinking.  </strong>After clearing out the negative thoughts, it is important that you next strengthen it with positive and empowering ones.  Positive statements include &#8220;I can&#8221;, &#8220;It is easy&#8221;, &#8220;I will&#8221;. The benefits of positive thinking are many. You are likely to be more motivated, feel happier and attract greater success.  </p>
<p>Use affirmations to lay the foundations in the building of your mental home.  Be aware about some of the pitfalls <a href="http://www.attractionmindmap.com/7-instances-why-your-positive-affirmations-fail-to-work/">where affirmations fail to work</a>. You need to build your home with the strongest material; so spend time in daily practice to make your affirmations.  </p>
<p><strong>5. Breathe in Fresh Air.  </strong>Good Feng shui practices advocate having a home with a free and energized flow of Qi (&#8220;energy&#8221;).   Hence, just like you prefer to have a home with good circulation, you would want your mind to be the same.  </p>
<p>Go to the park, as often as you can.  Amidst the lush greenery and gentle breezes, breathe in the crisp fresh air.  Breathe in deeply, to clear your thoughts and rejuvenate your mind.  </p>
<p><strong>6. Furnish It With Love.  </strong>A sad and miserable mental home is one that is filled with darkness, shame and guilt.  The Qi is negative, dense and heavy.  On the other hand, a happy mental home is one that is filled with love and joy.  The Qi here is positive, energized and light (as in bright).  </p>
<p>In feng shui terms, you need to remove the stagnant Qi and improve the free flow of good Qi.  Gravitate towards thoughts of love by <a href="http://www.attractionmindmap.com/how-to-love-yourself-in-17-ways/">loving yourself </a> and also cultivating the feeling of gratitude for what you have.  Practice giving in loving ways to others with <a href="http://www.attractionmindmap.com/a-random-act-of-kindness-15-ideas-to-kickstart-your-intention/">Random Acts of Kindness</a>.</p>
<p><strong>7. Nourish With Knowledge.  </strong>How else would you like your mental home to be?   If you have been playing computer games, watching violent TV shows or reading celebrity magazines filled with gossip talk, guess what?  You would not have done a very good job of nourishing it, aside from proper food.   </p>
<p>As I&#8217;m writing this post, I look around me to see what my physical home is like.  It is filled with stuff &#8211; books, toys, files, photos, files, paper, aeroplane models (belonging to my husband), books, magazines, paper, toys, and books.   From the inventory list, I narrowed our possessions down to mainly books and toys, outside of the paper and files (much of which belongs to my husband&#8217;s home office).  I&#8217;ve got books in every room, save for the bathroom.  Even my kitchen is stocked with cooking books. </p>
<p>We can&#8217;t get enough of books.  We borrow and buy them every month.  Which explains the clutter.  But it is easy to tell that we have a strong desire to enrich our minds in the area of self improvement and spirituality, since most of the books we have are on these topics. We can&#8217;t help having the stacks of books lying around either.  We are living in a rented apartment with hardly any cabinets for storage.  However, we know for a fact that we will be designing a huge library to accomodate an extensive collection of books in our new home one day.  And so it is and shall be &#8211; a mental home enriched with proper knowledge and right education.  </p>

<p><strong>8. Fill It With Beauty.  </strong>You would not hang pictures of violence, glum or horror in your physical home; so why do the same for your mental one? To stay positive and happy, it is important to protect the mind from too much negative imagery. If you spend a great deal of time beautifying your home, then you should spend as much time doing up your internal one as well. </p>
<p>In a rush and hurried life, it is easy to forget the need to set aside time to see beauty. Yet, if you become more conscious about this need, beauty can be found everywhere: the rainbow after the storm, the morning dew drops, the smile of a happy child or the little yellow flower that grows on the sidewalk.  When you see beauty, you are filled with thoughts of joy, love, happiness and awe. </p>
<p>All you need to do is to have the intent to see beauty.  When you wake up in the mornings, make this intent by simply saying it to the Universe or God.  It is important to plant the seeds that will help your mental home grow a beautiful garden. </p>
<p><strong>Take Charge of Your Mental Home.</strong></p>
<p>It is true that we tend to neglect the state of our mental home.  We know that we have not taken good care of it by the misery, frustration and worry that we feel.  Our negative thoughts hamper us in the success that we really should be deserving.  Our emotions rise and fall like tidal waves, because they are externally rather than internally-dictated. </p>
<p>We allow our mental home to be the breeding ground of toxic thoughts when we do not take charge. As poor gatekeepers, we let our neighbours, enemies or friends plant their negative thoughts on our turf and we eventually adopt them as our &#8220;truths&#8221;.  </p>
<p>Well, it is time to take charge.  </p>

<p>Turn the key in your lock to prevent any more harmful and toxic thoughts from entering. Spend your time clearing, cleansing, and strengthening your home with useful and positive thoughts. When you rejuvenate the Qi in your mental home, you are also bringing its vibrational energy up.  You have a happy home. This puts your Self in the best state to attracting abundance.   </p>

<p>One of the best techniques I have learned is about how to program ourselves for positive changes with water.  Having just written an article on <a href="/7-jazzy-ideas-to-making-affirmations-fun/">7 jazzy ideas to making affirmations fun</a>, I thought it will be nice to add to this list with the Glass of Water technique.</p>
<p>The use of water for healing is nothing new.  For instance, in churches, for centuries, blessings of water have often done for the purpose of baptism or for the blessing of persons, places or things.  Hence, programming through water can be used for just about anything that you wish for. As such, I am going to propose, with the writing of my article today, the use of water to carry messages of affirmations on success, health, relationships, love, happiness and abundance, to every single cell of our body. </p>
<p><span id="more-104"></span></p>
<p><strong>Why Water? </strong></p>
<p>You can program any object that you want to.  By programming, you send thoughts of focused positive energy into the object on hand, so that it will emit the same energy vibration back to its environment or in essence, the Universe.  For instance, you can program a crystal to emit love energy every time someone passes it in your living room.</p>
<p>However, it cannot be denied that that water is one of the best mediums, if not the best, for transmitting information and energy inside us.  After all, we drink water every day and our human body is comprised of 70 percent water.  The properties of water allow it to reach every cell and subatomic particle to deliver the information. Hence, by changing the molecular structure of water through the use of energy or vibrations, it is possible to transmit any message that you want at the miniscule subatomic particle level. </p>

<p>These findings were revealed by the very famous Dr Masaru Emoto in his best selling books &#8220;The Hidden Messages in Water&#8221; and and &#8220;The True Power of Water&#8221;. My husband first sat for a lecture presentation by Dr Emoto himself some years ago and even got our book copies autographed. </p>
<p>In The Silva Class during last weekend, I also found out that the late Jose Silva had also conducted experiments using water.  What would be useful for us, therefore, is to combine both Jose Silva&#8217;s mind power techniques and Dr Emoto&#8217;s findings to programming affirmations with the use of water. </p>
<p><strong>Basic Programming of Water The Silva Way</strong></p>
<p>1. Get a glass of water. In the original experiments, Jose Silva used glass,  But later experiments have shown that just about any container such as plastic bottles, Styrofoam cups work.  However, I would still recommend that you use glass since most of the tests involved glass, with good results.<br />
2.	Sit in a comfortable position.<br />
3.	Clasp the glass with both hands and try to spread your fingers while grasping it.  However, do not allow your fingertips from touching the fingertips of the other hand.  Hence the thumb of your left hand will be close to the thumb of your right hand but they are not touching each other.<br />
4.	Look into the water, using it as a mental screen.<br />
5.	State your affirmation and visualize the end result.  Do this for 15 minutes.  Here, you are using focused thought to communicate the pure intention that you wish the water to carry.<br />
6.	Once you have finished, drink it.  As you are drinking it, say this &#8220;this is all I need to achieve ________ (your affirmation)&#8221;.</p>
<p><strong>4 Ways To Programming Positive Affirmations With Water</strong></p>
<p><strong><i>1. Use the Power of Words</i></strong></p>
<p>In his books,  Dr Emoto  had been visually documenting molecular changes in water in a variety of situations using photographic techniques. It was clear that water easily took on the vibrations and energy of its environment, whether toxic and polluted or naturally pristine. What was perhaps most revealing was the effect of water when positive and negative words were typed on pieces of paper and stuck to its container overnight.  </p>

<p> It was shown that water absorbed the hado, the subtle energy of the word or thought.  Where water was exposed to positive words, the photographs showed beautiful crystalline structures (see picture on left).  Where it was shown negative words, the crystalline structures were ugly and distorted. Emoto&#8217;s photographs provided proof that water was highly alive and highly responsive to every one of our thoughts and emotions.</p>
<p>Based on the findings, it would not be unreasonable for us to consider using water to carry the affirmations that we want to make down to our cellular level. Since you are water, your body will surely respond to the information carried by it. Hence, to program yourself for positive changes, absorb words of positive affirmations by sending messages in the water that you consume.</p>
<p>Hence, after step 5 above, instead of drinking the water right away, how about programming it with a stronger energy vibration or hado? Dr Emoto&#8217;s recommendation: write the words on paper and paste it onto the container with the words facing in so that water inside can read it.  Keep this water at least overnight.</p>
<p>Talk to the water from time to time and occasionally shake the bottle, which helps to activate the water and contributes to its vibrations.  Drink 5 glasses of this water every day.</p>
<p>What words should you use?  Whatever you want to affirm.  But state it positively. If you do not have any specific affirmations, &#8220;love and gratitude&#8221; is a good phrase to show to the water.</p>
<p>Quoted from Emoto&#8230;.</p>
<blockquote><p>They were all beautiful, but the most beautiful one to me was the crystal that formed after the water was exposed to the words &#8220;love and gratitude&#8221;.</p></blockquote>
<blockquote><p>
&#8220;Love&#8221; is absolute and &#8220;gratitude&#8221; is relative.  Absoluteness is an active energy and relativeness is a passive energy.  Only when we have a receiver can we be involved in the act of giving.  No matter how hard you try to give your love, without a receiver, you won&#8217;t be able to do so.  It is Nature&#8217;s providence.  Splendidly, the water crystals present us Nature providence and the concept of life&#8217;s phenomena.  Not just love. Not just gratitude.  Only when the two are together can they manifest the workings of Nature.</p></blockquote>
<p>If you are working on canceling some negative emotion through your affirmations, use its antonym. For instance, if you are feeling stress, then use the word &#8220;relax&#8221;.  For irritability, use &#8220;calmness&#8221;. For anger, use &#8220;happy&#8221;.  In short, use various healing words to override what you are currently feeling. </p>
<p>In Emoto&#8217;s experiments, I&#8217;m not sure if he used anything longer than 2 words for the pieces of paper to be stuck onto the container.  Still, I do not see it a problem if you want to use a longer phrase or sentence.</p>

<p><strong><i>2. Heal With The Power of Prayer</i></strong></p>
<p>Instead of just stating an affirmation for Step 5 above, consider making a prayer. In Emoto&#8217;s findings, you can send a stronger hado by offering prayers in the past tense than in the future tense. &#8220;I hope my mother&#8217;s cancer will be cured&#8221;has been found to be less effective than &#8220;My mother&#8217;s cancer was cured&#8221;.</p>
<p>Ideally, you may want to recite your prayers continuously for the 15 minutes.  To make the process easier, search in advance for verses that you can recite for various affirmations or check up religious text for appropriate spiritual verses.  Of course, it is best if you can write prayer affirmations yourself to make them more relevant to your needs.  Recite your prayers emphatically, while imaging your success, and in the past tense. </p>
<p><strong><i>3. Use The Power of Imaging</i></strong></p>
<p>Imaging is also very important. It represents your hope, dreams and wishes.  As you repeat your affirmations, visualize the end result that you desire. Visualization is a way of giving stronger energy.  You add movement and emotion when you visualize.  Make it as vivid as you can.</p>
<p><strong><i>3. Heal With The Power of Music</i></strong></p>
<p>You may also choose to play music to the water, since Emoto&#8217;s photographs have shown that water responds to music.  Of course, the music that you select will have to be appropriate to the message that you want the water to transmit.  </p>
<p>When all vibrations go well at your cellular and subatomic particle level, your body as a composite, works beautifully like a grand orchestra. If a disturbance occurs in a vibration, a discord is created. Translated to physical terms, sickness can happen as a result of disharmony in your energy vibrations within. If you know music therapy, you can incorporate healing by playing beautiful classical pieces to water.  For health affirmations that you need to make, also visualize water coming from an undiscovered mountain spring cleansing and pure.</p>
<p><strong>Affirmations In A Glass</strong></p>

<p><em>1.  Affirmations of Self Love. </em>You can transmit positive words or thoughts to every part of your body by simply drinking water that has been programmed with an affirmation. Emoto&#8217;s work provides undisputed evidence that it is possible to heal and transform yourself by the positive thoughts you choose and send. Affirmations of self love can be wonderfully made through water. </p>
<p><em>2. Affirmations of Success. </em> You can drink to affirmations of success at work,  improving your golf score (see picture), fulfilling your dreams or becoming a top expert in your field. Here&#8217;s to Empowerment Through Water! </p>
<p><em>3.  Affirmations of Health. </em>Other than for self healing purposes, you can also help others with any existing health issues. I witnessed two monks using this technique sometime early this year, for my friend who was struck with cancer.  For cancer or other tumor issues, simply meditate and visualize a body that has normal and healthy growing cells. What is important is the pure intention and well wishes that you sent through the water.</p>
<p><em>4. Affirmations of Love and Gratitude. </em>Here is additional idea for a <a href="http://www.attractionmindmap.com/a-random-act-of-kindness-15-ideas-to-kickstart-your-intention/">Random Act of Kindness</a>:
<ul>Consider also giving bottles of &#8220;Love and Gratitude&#8221; water to your friends, loved ones and strangers. Give as Christmas presents, birthday wishes, as a token of appreciation or even for no specific reasons whatsoever. </ul>
<p>Need an idea for a positive affirmation to say to the water? This beautiful verse from Louis Hay, author of <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0937611018?ie=UTF8&#038;tag=httwwwebizcom-20&#038;linkCode=as2&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=9325&#038;creativeASIN=0937611018">You Can Heal Your Life</a>, will be a great one for anyone to drink to</p>

<p>Affirmations are positive statements of a desired outcome or goal. Affirmations are reprogramming tools for your mind.  They can help you develop positive thinking, get rid of unhelpful beliefs, reduce stress, build your self esteem and attract the life you want..  As an example, the statement that &#8220;I easily and consistently make $10,000 a month&#8221; will be an appropriate affirmation to make, to override the limiting &#8220;I find it hard to make $10,000 a month&#8221;.</p>
<p>To anchor an affirmation firmly in your subconscious, you need to keep repeating it so that it becomes the &#8220;truth&#8221; for you.  The more frequent you make the statement, the more it should take root.  </p>
<p>Having said that, I&#8217;ve often found that making the same affirmation several times a day and day-after-day a Bore.  Just imagine repeating these statements like a mantra:</p>
<p>&#8220;I easily and consistently make $10,000 a month.&#8221;<br />
&#8220;I weigh a healthy X pounds.&#8221;<br />
&#8220;I attract girls/men very easily.&#8221;</p>
<p>I&#8217;m not sure whether you would agree with me&#8230;.that while these affirmations may just do the job, they do not sound exciting in the least!</p>
<p>So I&#8217;m thinking: how about using some creativity to jazz up the practice of using Affirmations? </p>
<p>Well&#8230;..</p>
<p>Here is a list of 7 ideas from my toolkit for making affirmations a FUN exercise!</p>
<p><strong>1. Make Your Affirmations Into A Song!</strong></p>
<p>While racking my brain for ideas, I came across one from Gary Craig, founder of the <a href="http://www.attractionmindmap.com/eft-tapping.htm">Emotional Freedom Technique</a>. Gary suggested turning affirmations into a jingle.  </p>
<p>Remember the nursery rhyme Old McDonalds Had a Farm?  For those who just cannot recall, here&#8217;s the rhyme:</p>
<p>Old McDonalds had a farm. Ee-ii-ee-ii-o.<br />
With a quack quack here. And a quack quack there.<br />
Here a quack and there a quack.  Everywhere a quack quack.<br />
Old MacDonalds had a farm. Ee-ii-ee-ii-o.</p>
<p>Using Gary&#8217;s proposed lyrics and the same tune to Old McDonalds, here&#8217;s how you would sing to an affirmation involving a money goal:</p>

<p>Another song that I&#8217;ve thought of, that can be easily adapted is &#8220;My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean&#8221;&#8230;.</p>
<p>My Bonnie lies over the ocean, my Bonnie lies over the sea, My Bonnie lies over the ocean, O bring back my Bonnie to me.<br />
Chorus: Bring back, bring back, O bring back my Bonnie to me, to me. Bring back, bring back, O bring back my Bonnie to me.</p>
<p>Here is the version that I am proposing&#8230;.</p>

<p><strong>2. Make Affirmations an Art.</strong></p>

<p>Perhaps you are less of a singer than an artist.  If you are more visual, then consider using art to express your affirmations.  </p>
<p>You can start a scrap journal and paste or draw anything in it that supports your affirmation.  For instance, if your affirmation is &#8220;I make $10K a month&#8221;, think about the things you can buy.  Then, find the pictures that support them.  Stick pictures like a new designer handbag, new clothes, watch, etc. into your journal. </p>
<p>Alternatively, instead of pictures, you can also different phrases to support your affirmation.  For instance, I have come across phrases like &#8220;dream home come true&#8221;, &#8220;a million possibilities&#8221;, &#8220;arouse your creative imagination&#8221; and &#8220;inspirational living&#8221; while flipping through home and decor magazines.   Cut these phrases out and paste them into your scrap book.</p>
<p>Art can be expressed in a variety of ways, using different mediums. Other than cutting and pasting pictures for magazines, you can also consider using a software to create an affirmations board (refer to the above image that I made). The idea is to use your creativity in more ways than one, to connect to your inner Self while making affirmations. </p>
<p><strong>3. Dress The Part. </strong></p>
<p>This will depend on the affirmation that you are making.  Obviously, if you have a weight loss affirmation, then it may not be quite possible to dress the part yet.  </p>
<p>But if  you have an affirmation on a money goal, then dressing the part can be a powerful make-believe that you have already made it. Notice how you feel if you are always dress shabbily compared to if you have got your best clothes on?  </p>
<p>If you have an affirmation that says &#8220;I am a successful businessman&#8221;, then your dressing smartly can also help to conjure the same thought in the minds of your prospects. </p>
<p><strong>4. Daydream About Your Affirmations Coming True.</strong></p>
<p>Daydreaming is a powerful exercise. When you use your imagination, you are building an imagery in your subconscious mind.</p>
<p>In your daydreams, you can complete just about any impossible tasks out there, with wonderous results.  You can be Superman, Wonder Woman, or James Bond (See also point 6 below)!</p>
<p>While daydreaming, affirm your goals. Stretch your imagination.  Have fun, thinking of all possibilities on your affirmations come true. </p>

<p><strong>5. Use Role Models To Create Your Affirmations.</strong></p>

<p>How about borrowing this famous line?&#8230;..<br />
&#8220;Just call me Bond.  James Bond.&#8221;</p>
<p>Obviously, you should use the appropriate role model for the affirmation that you are working on.</p>
<p>For instance, if you have an aspiration to be a motivational public speaker, then your affirmation may sound like this &#8220;Just call me Tony. Tony Robbins.&#8221;</p>
<p>If you have an aspiration to look fit, then your affirmation may be &#8220;Just call me  Jennifer. Jennifer Lopez.&#8221;</p>
<p>If you have an affirmation to be a money magnet, then your affirmation may be &#8220;Just call me Donald. Donald Trump&#8221;.</p>
<p>Do make sure that the role model that you use is someone whom you really look up to.  If you have money blocks such as &#8220;Rich people are all a****&#8221;, then using someone like Donald Trump for your money affirmation may backfire until you work on your negative beliefs.</p>
<p><strong>6. Use Empowering Adjectives.</strong></p>
<p>The choice of words can help in bringing about a stronger emotion and force to your affirmations. For instance, don&#8217;t you think there is a difference between saying &#8220;I earn $5K a month&#8221; as compared to &#8220;I easily and consistently make $5K a month&#8221;?  </p>
<p>You can also add empowering adjectives, to make a more eloquent affirmation, like:<br />
Awesome<br />
Elegant<br />
Delightful<br />
Magnificent<br />
Energized<br />
Vibrant<br />
Beautiful<br />
Creative<br />
Wonderful<br />
Great</p>
<p>Emphasize the adjective while stating your new affirmation&#8230;.</p>
<p><i>Old Affirmation: </i> I am in a state of good health.<br />
<i>New Affirmation: </i>I am in a state of <em>Vibrant</em> health.</p>
<p><i>Old Affirmation: </i> I make $5K a month.<br />
<i>New Affirmation: </i>I make an <em>Awesome</em> $5K a month.</p>
<p><i>Old Affirmation: </i> I am in a job that I love.<br />
<i>New Affirmation: </i>I am in a <em>Magnificent</em> job that I love, with access to many <em>Wonderful </em>opportunities. </p>
<p><strong>7. Make-Believe Mini Exercises.</strong></p>
<p>Think up ideas for make believe on your affirmations coming true.  Back to my example again on the money goal, consider writing a blank check to yourself.  On the check, fill in your name and write the figure that you desire. Keep it n your wallet.  In your mind, imagine spending the dollar amount and feeling happy about your purchases. Repeat this exercise every month. </p>
<p><strong>In Conclusion</strong></p>
<p>Explore making affirmations into a poem, poster, food decoration.<i>Anything</i>! Since you were a child, your negative beliefs probably got anchored in your mind over and over again in a multitude of ways. <p>Perhaps it is that you already know that it is important to think positively, in order to attract more positive outcomes. You know the advantages of focused thoughts and have also ventured into making some positive affirmations for your daily use.  Yet, despite repeating them like a mantra for several times a day, you&#8217;ve not met with any success.</p>
<p>You&#8217;re just about to give up and proclaim that positive affirmations do not work.  Some time ago, I thought so too.  Until I came across the Palace of Possibilities concept by Gary Craig, (the founder of <a href="http://tinyurl.com/3bkbxx">Emotional Freedom Technique &#8211; EFT</a>). </p>
<p>In my post today, I would like to share with you a couple of key teachings from the Palace of Possibilties, with some examples of my own; so that you can be on your way to making positive affirmations properly and quickly.  </p>
<p><strong>What Are Positive Affirmations</strong></p>
<p>Affirmations are positive thoughts or statements on a desired state or outcome. The desired state or outcome can cover any aspect of your life such as in abundance, success, relationships or health.   One common example of an affirmation is &#8220;I consistently and easily make $X a month&#8221;. Using affirmations is powerful because consistent thoughts can become realities.  Hence, the more often you reinforce the positive, the more it is likely to happen. </p>
<p>While you would prefer to believe that you are a positive person, in reality, it is more like the opposite.  On a subconscious level, you may have several negative self sabotaging thoughts and beliefs.  These thoughts are usually formed from the various experiences that you have had, the conditioning that you went through as a child, your sense of fair play, your successes and failures and the values that you have been taught and come to adopt.  Consistent thoughts make up your belief system, when you give them power and more focus.  They form the &#8220;writings on your wall&#8221; from which you frequently consult in your everyday life.  </p>
<p>If the &#8220;writings on your wall&#8221; tend to be negative and limiting, they can hinder you from taking risks, achieving your dreams or simply being the best that you can be.  Here are some common examples of &#8220;writings on the wall&#8221; that are not very useful:</p>
<p>- &#8220;Don&#8217;t rock the boat.&#8221;<br />
- &#8220;Don&#8217;t risk getting yourself hurt.&#8221;<br />
- &#8220;Know where you come from.&#8221;<br />
- &#8220;You are not all that capable.&#8221;<br />
- &#8220;Don&#8217;t draw too much attention to yourself.  No one likes a showoff.&#8221;</p>
<p>Positive affirmations are statements that can help replace these &#8220;writings on your wall&#8221;. In the Palace of Possibilities series, Gary Craig proposed using affirmations to help reinforce positive beliefs after clearing negative emotions and thoughts.  He believed that affirmations held the missing step to greater financial abundance, more enriching relationships and to pursuing all possibilities. He examined the reasons why positive affirmations failed to work in several cases. </p>
<p><strong>Why Aren&#8217;t Your Positive Affirmations Working?</strong></p>
<p><strong>1. Presence of Tail Enders</strong></p>
<p>Perhaps one of the main reasons why positive affirmations do not work is because of the presence of tail enders.  Tail enders are beliefs and thoughts that appear at the end of the affirmation.  </p>
<p>Let me give you an easy example to illustrate what a tail ender is.  Say your positive daily affirmation is &#8220;I easily and consistently make $50,000 a month&#8221;.  Your tail enders may go like this&#8230;.</p>
<p>- &#8220;But if I make $50,000 a month, I will have friends and relatives come borrow money from me.&#8221;</p>
<p>- &#8220;But if I make $50,000 a month, I will be known as rich by my friends and rich people are not nice.&#8221;</p>
<p>- &#8220;But if I make $50,000 a month, I will have to work very hard in my job to earn that and I will have no life left.&#8221;</p>
<p>- &#8220;But if I make $50,000 a month, my friends will not like me.&#8221;</p>
<p>- &#8220;But if I make $50,000 a month, women (or men) will want to be with me more for how much I make and not for whom I am.&#8221;</p>
<p>The list of tail enders can go on and on.  You can have tail enders for just about any affirmation that you use for health, relationships, love, etc.  So if you have been diligently saying your positive affirmations but find that they are not working, you may want to ask yourself if you&#8217;ve got some tail enders that are sabotaging your initial intent.  Tail enders can easily reduce the effectiveness of your affirmations.  It takes a while to unearth all the limiting tail enders but once you uncover them, you open up the opportunity to erase them.  And you can do this with <a href="http://tinyurl.com/3bkbxx">EFT</a>.   </p>
<p><strong>2. Your Affirmation Is A Should. </strong></p>

<p>You may make an affirmation which you do not really want.  Often enough, people make affirmations because their parents say so, all their friends are doing so or it sounds like a good affirmation to affirm. </p>
<p>You may even have a tail ender that says this &#8220;I easily and consistently make $50,000 a month but I do not really want it.&#8221;  In this example, it may be that you have other dreams, rather than just a money goal. </p>
<p>It is important that you make affirmations according to what you really want, rather than make them based on your shoulds. Your wants are aligned desires that come from within your soul and not from someone else&#8217;s dream. </p>
<p><strong>3.  Your Affirmation Is Not Realistic Enough.</strong></p>
<p>If your affirmation appears to be a lofty goal to you, you may inadvertently set up tail enders that says it is too difficult to attain.   Let&#8217;s use the first example again for illustration. For instance, if you currently make $1000 a month, then making an affirmation on &#8220;I easily and consistently make $50,000 a month&#8221; may be too much of a stretch to you.  </p>
<p>Of course, you can use <a href="http://tinyurl.com/3bkbxx">EFT</a> or any other technique to erase the tail enders.  But you may find yourself having to deal with a long list of negative sabotaging thoughts.  It may be far easier to set an interim but more realistic affirmation; such as &#8220;I easily and consistently make $5,000 a month&#8221; and work your way up. You will find that you will have less obstacles to clear subconsciously, as you move up the ladder. </p>
<p><strong>4. Your Affirmation Is Not Exciting Enough.</strong></p>
<p>If your affirmation is not exciting enough, you may lose motivation. Affirmations must have enough &#8220;pull&#8221; for you to focus your intent on.  For instance, from currently making $1,000 monthly, would $5,000 a month be a good enough affirmation for you to work on? I would think so.  </p>
<p>Your affirmation also works best if you say it with some emotion. When you can actually &#8220;feel&#8221; your affirmation, its impact increases dramatically. </p>
<p>One important tip is that it is best that you do not let others know too much about your dreams and affirmations.  Announcing them to people who are not very supportive and who have little understanding about what you are doing, can invite criticisms.  They may just douse your enthusiasm, causing you to give up on your affirmation.  Hence, it is best to keep things to yourself, focus your thoughts and get some results, before sharing your findings with others.  </p>
<p><strong>5. Your Positive Affirmation Is Not Made In The Present Tense.</strong></p>
<p>Your affirmation is less effective if you use words like &#8220;I will be _________&#8221; instead of &#8220;I am ________ &#8220;.  Of course, you may feel that it is inappropriate to affirm something that has not happened yet.  But saying things in the present tense will program your subconscious mind to believe that what you affirm is already a fact.  Once your subconscious mind believes that it is true, you will find yourself taking actions to make your goal a reality. </p>
<p><strong>6. Your Affirmation Focuses On The Negative Rather Than Accentuating The Positive.</strong></p>
<p>Think back about all your affirmations.  Are you formulating them in the positive or in the negative sense?  Affirmations made from a negative perspective will only draw your subconscious mind to your old habitual and limiting thoughts.  They will not be as effective in bringing about desired positive outcomes.  </p>

<p><strong>7. Your Affirmation Is Not Supported By A Dream.</strong></p>
<p>You may associate dreams as something that is so big but which are unattainable.  You pooh pooh the idea of dreaming: why waste time imagining the impossible when dreams seldom come true?  </p>
<p>Well, there is much value in daydreaming.  And in case you believe so, daydreaming is not just for kids. When you daydream, you connect yourself with all possibilities.   The act of daydreaming itself creates a nice feeling when you think &#8220;how nice if I would be if I can/am _________&#8221;.  When you feel good, you start to exude a positive energy vibration.  According to the Law of Attraction, you may well start to attract the opportunities that matches the same vibration.  </p>

<p><strong>Summary: Guidelines To Help Make Positive Daily Affirmations A Success</strong></p>
<p>1. Make affirmations short and succinct, with no tail enders.</p>
<p>2. Base your affirmations on wants and not shoulds.</p>
<p>3. Make them realistic.  </p>
<p>4. Make your affirmations exciting enough. </p>
<p>5. State affirmations in the present tense. </p>
<p>6. State affirmations in the positive.  </p>
<p>7. Augment your affirmations with dreams.  </p>
<p>In short, before you conclude that positive affirmations do not work, go through this checklist first and see if you have made them correctly.</p>

<p> It is important to have fun while making affirmations.  Adjust them from time to time to eliminate boredom. Cover your intent adequately with affirmations by focusing on different aspects of your goal and watch your desires unfold before you. </p>
