How do you like my new look?
Well, I have just gone through a health check-up and consequently, got a new makeover as well. If you don’t already know this, I have not been very well since last year. I looked okay on the outside but inside, I was ailing from faulty bugs. My poor digestion meant that sometimes, my output got a little messed up. I guess I will stop here with any more unnecessary details.
My owner, Evelyn, could not find the time to take me to the doctor for a good many months. I don’t blame her. She is a busy woman, you know. What’s nice was that she finally did allocate some time for me just over last weekend! And, instead of getting someone else to look me over, she decided to check me herself.
I was sweating for a while. The healing process was a little difficult at first. My owner encountered a good many issues. In the process, she also unknowingly turn off my communication ability (the comment function). But it is now back on again, in case there are those of you who had something to say to my last post on 101 Negative Money Beliefs but could not do so.
Oh sure. Some of you may find that I look like other sites on the web. However, based on my owner’s checkings, the thesis theme is one of the healthiest one available on the blogosphere. Apparently, it allows me to be easily optimised, whatever that means!
Really, looking all dolled up is the least of my concerns. What is more important is that I am healthy, little clutter on the inside, neat, bright, welcoming, cheery, helpful, compassionate and loving. I continue to invite a little friendly energy exchange, as seen by the little ads on my sidebar. The energy exchange helps put food inside my mouth, so I am told!
My owner may eventually hire a designer to make me look just a touch unique. I hope she does. But I know that in most instances, she is very much a hands-on person. She prefers to do everything herself. Let’s see what happens, shall we?
In any case, Evelyn shouldn’t be complaining about spending more time on me either. She has been very fascinated with how the keys light up in her all new Macbook Pro (see photo above). She claims that it inspires her to write better quality content. Fancy that!! *Snort* Telling others to BE intuitively inspired when she is relying on Apple to do it for her instead!
Oh, by the way, she has asked me to relay the message that she will be back in the next few days with a new post; as soon as she completes running some diagnosis on me. To be honest, I can barely wait. I am so looking forward to creating a big blast on the blogosphere soon!!

You’re always good at keeping things clean and organized.
Thesis is a pretty safe bet.
At the end of the day, I think the most important thing is how you feel about your theme. I preferred my original theme in terms of look and feel, but I’ve learned to appreciate my new theme’s functionality.

Thank you, J.D., for being the first to help me test out the commenting function. Just five minutes ago, while making some code modifications, I got an error message that says database overload???
I’ve got to admit that I am not in technically inclined. It takes me a looong time to figure technie stuff out!!
I’m liking your new theme too. It’s not quite so different from the clean uncluttered look of thesis.

Good fresh new look. I know how much work a site can be. My boyfriend, Cornel, did all of the work for our site. He decided he wanted to do his own thing rather than use Wordpress or something. He’s written all of the functionality himself!

Dear AMM,
I am not at all happy with your owner Evelyn. First of all, she made me laugh so hard my stomach hurt. Secondly, how dare she have a cool new Macbook when I’m still punching away at my old G4? Oh and one more thing, she’s causing me all this trouble because now I’m toying with the idea of switching themes too and we all know how much work it takes to figure out all this technical stuff…
But don’t tell her I said all that ok? Just tell her I loved her post, as usual. It was an inspiration!

It’s great to feel renewed with a new look!! I have been somewhat buried since last year. Oh yes, my owner uses Skype to call her clients and to be on teleseminars. She will be happy to have a chat with your owner one day. Incidentally, my owner had a great time on Saturday evening with her Aussie friends, dining over home-cooked seafood spaghetti, lasagne, buffalo wings and garlic toast!! She came home feeling quite sick from having overeaten!!

My owner is not sure if she wants to bring back the butterfly though. It’s too much work to have to figure that one out with the header. Maybe one day, when she starts to get that itch, she may just attempt to!!

Oh yes. The new Macbook Pro is waaaay cool!! My owner deserves it, you know!! She is pretty addicted to the web. I can’t imagine her looking at anything else if she intends to stay inspired.

A new laptop? How great! I like the new look very much, and miss the posts. I’ve just been going through the same thing, working on changing the functions of my blog and adding decoration.
In my Drive-By Shooting evaluation, the Men With Pens mention that the fonts with serifs are harder to read than the ones without. When I switched, someone commented that it looked much cleaner. Just FYI.
Also, maybe you’ve already planned this, but some color up in the title area would be nice.
However, more important is that everything inside is cleaned up and running smoothly, and the look is good as it is.

Heya Evelyn! The Thesis theme is still one of my favourite paid themes that I’ve come to like after seeing it appear in quite a number of blogs that I have on my reader.
Fantastic choice! However those who’s using Linux might see some overlapping or disproportionate sizing of the form input (for the subscription) and the categories.
However, given from how it looked like in your featured image for this post (the screenshot), I still think it looks very neat and I’m sure you are loving this theme better each and every day.

Cute post, and I think THESIS was a good choice. I’m happy with it on SHE-POWER, and as you say, it is easy to get a designer to create a more unique look if you so desire. I have thought about it, though, like yourself, I prefer to do things for myself.

My owner Robin wants Aunty Evelyn to know that she knows how to put butterflies on Thesis, and she can send her the code if she needs it. And she thinks Aunty Dot might be right about sans-serif fonts being best for websites – but if Aunty Evelyn keeps the serifs, that looks very nice too.

Okay…I know….I know….my owner is nagging at me now. She is telling me that inner beauty is more important than outer appearances. Spending time on publishing words that heal, inspire, or motivate is more productive than spending time sprucing me up, she says. But really….who cares about being productive, right? I also need to look “attractive”; after all, it is what her header says!!

Health from the inside is sooo important and I think that’s what Thesis does best.
Not to mention all that lovely white space and crisp typography! Beautiful.
I like doing my own customisation and tweaking too but have to confess that’s where I got stuck with Thesis… I’m glad I got someone into help, it meant I could sit back and enjoy the process (and the end result).
Have fun experimenting with the theme!

You can change your header and text in styles.css. All the “design” code should be in there. I haven’t used Thesis, but it should be similar.

Nice idea, writing from the themes perspective that is!
I like the theme, and I’m a big fan of thesis, I had a few of my clients get it recently due to it being that sleek and professional. The only thing I recommend is that you set-up a logo for the site rather than just having text.
That’s just me though, I hope it works out well for you.
