For manifestations to occur, you need two factors; pure intention and focused attention. Intention is what directs potentiality, while attention is the intensity of this intention. As intention comes from thought, and thought is energy, then it goes to show that the more energy in your attention, more your intentions will manifest. If you find yourself getting stuck in your manifestations, then these are the two factors you need to look into.
Many of us face the problem of having several intents that cancel each other out. We do not have a clear single mindedness of focus. Need an example? Just think about the number of times when you have started on a project or venture, and you decide to quit half way, giving up on or your original goal.
“One reason so few of us achieve what we truly want is that we never direct our focus; we never concentrate our power. Most people dabble their way through life, never deciding to master anything in particular.”
—Anthony Robbins quotes
Attention is what brings about movement and strength to your intention. You can have an intent but if you do not direct your energy sufficiently, then you cannot bring about conscious changes.
“Remember that thought is the fire that creates the steam that turns the wheel of fortune, upon which your experiences depend.”
—The Master Key System by Charles F Haanel
We cannot attract positive outcomes if we are not sure what it is that we truly desire. We find ourselves stuck or still in the same position as before. The result is that we accomplish nothing.
The lack of clarity can affect the energy behind our focused attention. The energy is confused, weak and scattered. Read how I successfully bend silver metal spoons here using focused attention, after clearing up my energy.
The mechanics of focused attention is to concentrate, without any conscious or subconscious interfering thought. When you can do this, invisible forces are set in motion for your manifestations to occur.

The Principle of Focused Attention
The Principle of Focused Attention is a Universal law. This principle says that a thought reaches a combustion point at 17 seconds of pure undiluted focus. As we all know, thoughts usually follow one after another. So if there is a second thought that is in alignment with the first, the effect is exponentially more powerful. At the end of 17 seconds or 34 seconds, the next thought combusts. With 34 seconds of pure focus, it evolves to a higher level of energy. Add another 17 seconds, 34 seconds become 51 seconds and so on and so forth. If this string of thoughts is directed systematically and constructively, the energy vibrates at a frequency that draws the desired outcome and brings it into physical reality.
A Simple How-to Exercise To Apply The Principle of Focused Attention
I came to know about the 17 seconds requirement for focused attention some time ago but had no idea on how to apply it. If anything, I found myself often having sabotaging thoughts. “I want a new car but petrol prices are going to kill me”; “It will be nice to go on a vacation but that may mean that I cannot blog while I am away”; “I want to go to the gym but that will mean I will have less time for social marketing on the web”. It’s impossible to have pure thought after pure thought, without corruption.

However, in one of the Silva Mind Control techniques, I was taught a very useful exercise to put this into practice. This exercise involved creating a running script while making the visualization.
Ever tried role playing? This is exactly what it is. You imagine yourself as already having your desired outcome. However, instead of a static picture that you create in your mind, it is like you are in a movie. And you say this script out loud.
Need an example? Try saying this…
“I am now at a book signing ceremony. My book has made it to the best seller’s list on Amazon for six weeks in a row. Everyone is clamoring for a piece of me! There is a long queue of excited fans waiting in line.
I feel somewhat exhausted for it is already the 121th book I’m signing. I’ve got more signing ceremonies lined up in the next few days. The last I’ve checked with my personal assistant – my schedule is full for the next 6 months.
Despite my exhaustion, I am grateful to be sitting here. I am most appreciative towards my readers and fans. Without their support, I would not have attained my 7-digit income. All my hard work and late nights have finally borne fruit. Sitting in meditation and experiencing the gap every now pretty much provided me with inspired ideas for my book.
While making money has not been my primary motivator, it is a huge testimony to the lives that I have transformed through my site. I have inspired changes in more people that I ever dream of. It is heart warming when strangers whom I do not know, come up to tell me about the difference my book has made to them.
Click-click! It is the sound from a camera! ‘Look here, please,’ says a fan. I smile and look towards the camera.”
Your Homework
Enjoyed the script? Okay…how about this? Post a 17-second script in the comments section below and let me know what your inspired dream is. Tip: You can picture yourself at an award ceremony, about to finish a race or receiving a million dollar check in the mail; anything! The idea is to have fun, stretch your imagination and feel a dose of gratitude for having manifested your intention, while visualizing!

Hi Evelyn,
Thank you or a great post! I have known about this for a while myself and this is my 17 sec.;
In front of me is big crowd of people,(a couple of hundred). I am in the middel of my own workshop, teaching about energy medecine & meditation, and how to use it for spiritual growth. I am in my element! People are responding with love and gratitude as I am towards them. We are all learning from each other, as our lives are becoming better and better. We learn how to choose to live in Joy. All around me I see and feel the smiles. =)
Thank you for letting me share!

Hi Evelyn!
I’ve always loved using scripts to get some fire behind visualizations but I’ve never thought of using it this way!
Thank you! I’ve been having a lot of counter-intentions lately.. Let me demonstrate it in my script below :
The lights fade.
The room goes silent.
Steps are heard.
Light #1 switches on followed by #2, #3 and so on, revealing me in my pink tie in a hard pressed Armani suit.
“Today marks a HUGE Milestone as I just got word this morning that I have hit the 10 Million Dollar Mark …” I began.
“How did you do it?” a gentleman shouted from the back.
I’m already an established Law of Inspired Action Expert in the field of personal development and am now going around the world delivering seminars anywhere I can.
The downside however is that I don’t get to spend much time with my friends and family.
It feels like I grew up abit too fast but it’s okay.
This just means that I get to retire sooner and start my own family with the ability to provide them with Abundance!
And of course, along the way change millions of lives =)
Thanks for this A. Evelyn!
lol we both know what the A stands for!
Just kidding, Evelyn!

I don’t get anybody ever pooh-poohing visualization. It has been proven time and again to work. We can dispute the reasons but that’s not really the point, is it?

Nice post Evelyn
Here’s a post I send my email list you (and your readers) might find of value:
http://www.religiousscience.org/ucrs_site/education/visioning.html
Excerpt from Visioning and the Science of Mind website:
What is the difference between visioning and the technique of visualization?
“Visualization is a beginning phase in metaphysics in which we mentally conceive of something we want. We imagine doing it or having it and we generate the feelings that would accompany the experience. Visualization involves having an idea of what we want to accomplish or how we want to live our life, then imaging that goal as already achieved and establishing the necessary mental and emotional vibrations to bring it forth and manifest it. Visualization is a beautiful and wonderful stage in our evolution, and it’s very important.
Visioning is a process by which we train ourselves to be able to hear, feel, see, and catch God’s plan for our life or for any particular project we’re working on. An organic process that has evolved for me as I grow spiritually, it is based on the idea that we’re not here to tell God what do or to ask God for things but to absolutely be available for what God is already doing, to open ourselves up to catch what’s already happening. When we do visioning, on the other hand, we align in consciousness with our divine purpose, which is to love and to express a greater degree of life. Then we open ourselves to catch a sense of how that expression is supposed to occur through us”.

Lorraine

This is fun.
I am standing at the top of a steep ski slope. The slope is marked as a black diamond trail. I look down the slope, take a deep breath and start skiing. I build up speed. Everything is white and incredibly quiet. The air is fresh and crisp. I make graceful turns. I am at ease, in control, and I am not scared at all. In fact, I am having the time of my life.
I wanted to stumble this… but I have a new computer and it seems to be having issues with Stumbleupon for some reason. Need to look into that and go back to stumbling!

It’s always nice to come back to my site to read a fresh round of comments. What a great start today to read scripts submitted by some of my favorite people on the web!! Thanks!
@Mary and SaiF, may your inspired dreams come true!
@Tim, it doesn’t hurt to put a little imagination to our dreams. Adding a dose of fun and creativity for beyond 17sec can distract our minds from our (for most of us…not saying you) otherwise dull and negative minds. So how about sharing your script ☺?
@Lorraine, lovely piece you wrote here. Thanks for pointing out the difference between visioning and visualization. I have learnt something of value today!
@Vered, well done! Love your script! Hope you don’t mind if I decide to “borrow†it. My family is planning for a snow skiing trip end of the year. We are still debating on where to go; the States is a likely choice.
@Man, great one there! Hope the script helps to provide a sense of empowerment! Thanks for sharing!

Evelyn, what powerful insight about intention and attention. You are right that we often sabotage ourselves with conflicting thoughts. It takes practice to get our minds, hearts and spirit on the same page. Thank you Evelyn for sharing and teaching.

I don’t mind at all.
I love skiing!

Evelyn this is very powerful, thank you. I was about to write my 17 second script and share it here and then I found that I didn’t want to. That means that it’s time to go within and decide once again on exactly what I want. No sense scripting an old desire that no longer carries the juice for me.

I am in Costa Rica celebrating my Yoga teaching certification by welcoming a group of people to my Luscious Living retreat. The weather is perfect, the space is lovely. My coaching, yoga and meditation sessions are well attended and I have made several life long friends. Each person involved comes away feeling simply divine.

@Tom, this exercise is certainly brilliant! In a running script, there is less tendency to have the “buts” or the second or third sabotaging thought that thwarts the intent of the first. I need to look into mine too. You have correctly pointed out that it is important to look into what we really want, before doing this exercise. Thanks!
@Shann, may you get what you desire – your very own Luscious Living retreat that fills the inner souls of all attendees with love, peace and harmony!

Hubby and I are in our own bungalow. this is our 2nd property after the 3-room flat which is rented out. we paid up veery single cent of both mortgages. our kids are running around, delighting themselves with the pool outside. i am feeling like the happiest wife and business owner on earth. i don’t need to go to office everyday now as we established a large home office, complete with all the office equipment. At the same time, now I have an online business that is generating a double digit income per month with minimal effort. meanwhile, my current sales in the advisory job is skyrocketing as a result of big referrals. i have been raking in another double digit income per month from that. hubby is now the director for regional. i make sure he is well taken care of. the thing about my jobs is that i can still be at home and take care of our 3 kids. the youngest is only 3 years. we want them to grow up in this world to be wise and competent. soon, we are going to retire. there is enough funds for the 3 children to see them through education and even their own future endeavours. but we don’t want them to over-rely on us. they are on the right track. our friends are envious of us. they wonder how we did it in a matter of 5 years. it started all the way from 2008 when we dated, bought a flat, got ROM and married all within a year. we fought a lot but we loved each other like mad. we still do but we don’t fight anymore. it is with a lot of humour and a wry smile that we take life as it is. the sunset makes the house very cosy. my youngest just promptly sat himself on our 3k coffee table, not knowing that he might be damaging it. i pick him up, smell his hair. telling the other 2 children to follow me, i brought them to the children’s studyroom and read them a book. the eldest appreciate it a lot. the 2nd one is fidgetive. i could never get him to sit still. but he is very imaginative and love to make tools. perhaps he is another einstein but he definitely takes after his dad, they both yak a lot. the youngest looked at me with his big round eyes. this one and the eldest are like me, quiet, unassuming but with huge determination to make things happen. hubby just came back and the 3 kids practically ran to him for a huge hug. i get the last hug. we are going out to my mum’s place for dinner. mum love my kids. they create a din there but they know how to por my mum. 2nd and 3rd sis dote on them. i renovated mum’s place when i earned my first million. she and dad are ageing but still healthy. the whole house now look so much more beautiful and cleaner than how it used to be. i put in new furniture too and made sure the kitchen looks bright and friendly. they don’t need to scrape. i give them a monthly household income of 3k. i intend to raise it higher to 5k. not that they use all of it. sometimes to give them so much is actually more of a waste coz they put it in the bank, earning pathetic interest rates. i would very much prefer to buy them the stuffs they need, pamper them but then again, they prefer cash. nightfall, we went back to our house, pack the kids to bed and hubby and I talked our usual poking and laughing. he’s going to retire soon so that he can spend more time with me and the kids. honestly, we have come to the stage where we dont need the income anymore. we already have more than enough to see through 2 generations. there is still half a century and more to enjoy. it’s time to spend those years together wisely.

Fantastic tool…here is my script:
I get home and tell my home and kids that I have a fantastic surprise for them and that they are to get in the car and close their eyes. We drive about 5 minutes to where our dream home is. I have already arranged to have a gift bow attached to the door and everything, once I park the car I tell them to open their eyes. Everybody explodes in excitement, my wife hugs and kisses me and I tell here “Here honey, a gift to you”. My kids are ecstatic as well running up to their rooms and already making plans of what furniture and toys to put up. I also give my wife a debit card to a $50K account to purchase all the furniture and decorations she wants
This is great..thanks for this great tool.

I love this technique. It really makes you feel like ur living it! so, here is my script…
This guy i have been dating in a while tells me he loves me and wants me to meet his family. So we get pack our stuff and get on a plane to visit his mother and sister who live out of town. When i get there, I hit it off with his family, his mom is absolutly pleased that he is dating me. So later that night at the dinner table, my boyfriend reach in his right pocket and pulls out a box; next thing I know he is kneeling down on one knee an says “Babe will you marry me and be my wife?”. Everyone is saying “awww”, i am totally surprise and so happy, i shed a tear of happiness and say “Yes, i want to marry you and be your wife”. So i rush to the phone and call my mother, brother and sister whom of course screamed joy! So we decided to move in together until we bought our dream house. Since we both got promoted our combined income was already over $200K not to mention the 250k lottery that i had won and yet had to tell him about. Gosh he is so excited and cannot wait to show my family the ring. The wedding has been set for 1 year from now…

Hi Evelyn:
I have just finished my training and workshop for two days here in Sudan and I would like to tell you about how visioning and visualization worked and made my training and worshop very successful. Before the start of the training, I used to visualize on things that I wanted to take place during the training based on the the training expecations and those possible things that may happened in the course of the day and think of possible solutions. It really worked. Thank you so much.
