“What is this true meditation? It is to make everything: coughing, swallowing, waving the arms, motion, stillness, words, action, the evil and the good, prosperity and shame, gain and loss, right and wrong, into one single koan.”- Hakuin

Identify with the above scenario while trying to meditate? Fret not.

Hi Vidya,
Oh yes….Min is very creative. She has a vivid imagination. Min likes to make up stories and draw comics every single day. But more often than not, she throws away her pieces. So I am now thinking of putting her abilities to good use….ha!
Once I gave her the concept, it took her just 5 minutes to get the above comics drawn.
Oh yes, do look at your kid’s sketches. I am sure that you will be able to find something!
Thanks for your comments. Min will be happy to hear positive feedback regarding her comics
With love,
Evelyn

I love your post and Min’s drawings. She’s very talented! My middle child has always been very creative and is now majoring in art at college. Please tell her how much I enjoyed them. It brought a big smile to my face!!

Hello Betsy,
It’s great that your middle child is majoring in art. Bet she must be loving it!
Thank you for your feedback. Yes, Min will be so happy!! It will help build her confidence greatly. She is shy about showing her work and has a habit of trashing her drawings.
With love,
Evelyn

This is a neat and lively way to blog. It shows me that you have a sense of humor, and lightens up the room from the dull black and white text. Keep it up!

Thank you, Dr Lynn. Drawing comics is a great stress reliever. I enjoy making myself (and maybe others) smile with my comics.
Best wishes,
Min

Yes. Your daughter is especially talented. Those are remarkable cartoons for a 9-year-old. Continue to encourage her. And one of the best ways to do that is to share her work on your blog. Show her that it’s worthy of worldwide exposure to an adult audience. Proud of you for doing so already.

Hello Ken,
It did not occur to me previously to share her drawings. My daughter prefers to trash them as she dislikes people prying into her inner world. It is really regrettable cause her drawings can be very very detailed….far more than the above comics.
But if I were to give her a topic and concept, she gladly draws them for me. What would take me half an hour, she takes only 5 minutes. And yes, it is far easier to get her to do the drawings. It will be great to see how she perceives things and the details from her lens too.
Thank you for your feedback. I really appreciate it
With love,
Evelyn
