Hi Evelyn - I have nearly two decades before my "official" retirement age arrives, but I've begun work this year in creating websites that will begin supporting retirement LONG before the age of 62. I figure that 10-15 years should be plenty of time for the development and maturation of these sites (ie - attracting lots of traffic, which in turn will equal sales). And then once in place, I can have a fairly passive income to support my wife and I for the rest of our lives.

Regards,
Bob

I'm so excited for you as move closer to your dreams! I'm not sure what my dream business is, but I do know it's gotta have fluidity and multiple roles for me. And to be honest, that wasn't something I realized until I read this--thanks!

Hi Evelyn - congratulations. Tom's course sounds great and it sounds like you've really taken the time to discover what you want to do, which is important. I'm looking forward to seeing your business grow.

@Jordan, how nice! What a business yours will be! A business with people who choose to be unique and with a mind of their own. I like this idea very much!

@Barbara, thanks for reading the interview. Yes...she was wonderful. She was incredibly wise.

@Kelly, it's so interesting to learn that you want to be a "novelist and travel writer, public speaker and writing mentor". I like the fact that you have got so many dreams and want to achieve so much. It shows your zest for life!

I know exactly how it feels like not just wanting to being a mom. I know I'll absolutely not survive if I do not have a chance to explore my creative pursuits. It will be close to dying!

I'd think Tom will be a great help if you are intending to build an authentic business. I don't say it because I am friends with Tom. I am of the opinion that only when you are building something that is true to who you are, can you expect to have a great business. Money considerations really ought to be secondary, since you have a husband who can help pay the bills. Use the opportunity that you have to pursue your true heart's desire!

Evelyn

Off to Myrko's site next to read your interview, but I am really excited for you and this journey of self discovery you are on. I think my dream business involves being a novelist and travel writer, public speaker and writing mentor, but I have no idea which route to focus on first to make this happen.

My creative writing always competes with my desire to make money doing something fulfilling so I can keep traveling. I am lucky in that my husband is the primary earner and I am able to have a very hands on role with my son, which is very important to me. But I need my own creative fulfillment, space and projects too. I can't just be a mom.

I think I hoped when I started blogging that I would come across a money making activity that "fit" me and was enjoyable so I wouldn't have to resort to marketing and copy writing when I wanted to put some bucks in the savings pot. But so far, I have just been overwhelmed with ideas and unsure where to turn. Maybe I do need Tom's help.

Hi Evelyn - I just read the interview. I like how you shared a little more of yourself, but most of all, the story of your mother-in-law was very moving. She sounded like a wonderful person.

My dream business focuses on customers who seek to do things differently. Being different is a mindset. Great post and it is inspiring to see so many people who like to see and do things differently.
