Blessings For Healing

Blessings For Healing

Going through a tough time? Need to heal from hurt? Or simply need to be inspired to pass on blessings of love and kindness to others? The video that I was playing over and over again during the weekend may be just just what you need.

Somehow I resonated with the message that the clip contained. My eyes moistened when I first viewed it. In the end, after playing video over like 10 times, I went out to buy the CD “Earthsongs” by Secret Garden; which contained the music the clip featured.

Choose To Be Healed

You cannot heal others unless you first commit to healing yourself. Be the change that you want to see the world, as the famous saying by Gandhi goes. As you heal, your light begins to shine. You become the light that also helps to light up others in its path. You raise group consciousness.

“Be the new way. Be the higher way. Be the grandest way. Then you can truly say, I am the way and the life. Follow me.”
— Quote by Neale Donald Walsch from Conversations with God Book II

One good way of starting to heal is to cultivate gratitude today. Be grateful for all the abundance that you have right now. Fill and nurture your soul and pass on the blessings of joy, love, peace and compassion.

Acts of blessings to others do not necessarily require you to perform something big. An act can be as simple as saying a kind word to your spouse, making time for your kids, doing a random act of kindness, or giving a hug to a friend in need.

I Am All That I Am

I felt enveloped with loving energy and decided to open my personal journal. I flipped my handwritten pages, one at a time. In one particular entry, I had adapted a few lines from the book Conversations with God to remind myself of what it means to be all that my Higher Self is….

I am all that I am

Blessings To All Readers To This Blog

It had not previously occurred to me to share about what I have been doing to spread some love around but it seemed appropriate now. For the past few weeks, during my Kundalini Yoga class, I have been saying a healing prayer; sending blessings to all my loved ones. In the same prayer, I have also been intending that the same love be extended to all the readers to this blog and in particular to those who are going through a difficult time this period.

The healing prayers were tokens of blessings done after meditating. Group singing made in pure intention apparently increased their healing effects. I could almost feel my spirits soar as I sang along to the mantra “Peace to all; Light to all; Love to all”.

Blessings To Bloggers

Since the beginning of this year, I have come to know a great community of bloggers. I have been enjoying the warmth of my friendships with many, even though most are half way across the world from me. It is impossible for me to name them all (I do not want to miss out any names) but I give thanks to every single blogger who has supported this site by way of commenting, social bookmarking, voting or in spirit. My life has never felt richer if not for an awesome group of online friends. Much blessings to my fellow bloggers; many of whom are coaches, authors or simply people who aspire to make a positive change in the lives of others!

Blessings To Lightworkers

At this point, I would also like to take the opportunity to bless a different group of friends. They are friends I know, who are lightworkers. They are rarely on the web. They do not have the time to. They have chosen to give up much pay and time to doing work that helps to heal the weak and the underprivileged. They give up their weekends, work leave, and any time in between; without a murmur or complaint. They often work in the shadows to lighten the load of their fellow human beings.

I am inspired in every way to be the best that I can Be. I give thanks for being touched by their lives. I now choose to pass the light to others.

You: A Candle That Never Shortens

“Thousands of candles can be lit from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared.” – Buddha

Now, an open invite to you: What One Single thing can you do today to heal yourself? What can you also do to pass on some blessings?

May You Be Blessed – Always!

Namaste

I gladly receive the blessings for bloggers. Thanks Evelyn! :)

Evelyn September 15, 2008 at 10:26 am

Hey Daniel, you sure are quick :-)

BC Doan September 15, 2008 at 10:37 am

One simple thing I can do today to heal myself: remind myself whatever happened was in the past, I must live in the now!

What can you do to pass on blessing? Do one random act of kindness today!

Great questions!

Vinay Raj September 15, 2008 at 12:11 pm

Do good any way!

Writer Dad September 15, 2008 at 12:12 pm

That’s a fantastic Buddha quote.

Vered - MomGrind September 15, 2008 at 12:26 pm

“What One Single thing can you do today to heal yourself? What can you also do to pass on some blessings?”

Heal myself: Learn that negativity reflects on the commenter and not on me.

Pass on blessings: be kind and positive when I intercat with others.

Thank you, Evelyn!

YOU are a blessing to me! Thank you for sharing this – it gave me goose bumps :)
I hope everything you share so willingly comes back to you in abundance!

Evelyn,

I ,too, also LOVE the Buddha quote. So many quotes are so profound, but this really is one of the deepest/most meaningful. It should be of our true essence. Something I really need to remember and be reminded of.

Thanks for reminding me,

Tonight, I’m going to help my husband and children set up dream boxes. I am halfway through reading Ask and You Shall Get. Thanks for being one of the people to recommend it to me.

Evelyn

You are such a beautiful soul and I feel blessed to be your friend. I also join you in sending blessings to all the light workers and healers out there who work tirelessly for others while often sacrificing a lot of comforts and material possessions of this world. I have been lucky enough to have known many wonderful healers, and one of them is even in my family.

As for what I can today to heal myself, I am going to live in every second as if it was complete and perfect of itself. I will not think of tomorrow or yesterday and I will cherish and hold close my son as we have a wonderful day together. No multi-tasking or split priorities today. Just lots of gratitude for my beautiful home, healthy and free spirited son, many freedoms and devoted husband.

Thank you. Your posts always make me feel good.

Evelyn, it is so clear to me that you really seek to be an instrument of love and healing. No matter where you travel in the blogosphere you leave gifts of love and kindness so allow me to say thank you for being a blessing. The one thing I can do to heal myself today is to listen – to my heart, spirit and body. To give what is needed, to nurture so that my own well of giving is replenished. For others, as always respect their humanity and treat them with the kindness and dignity they deserve.

Evelyn September 15, 2008 at 9:02 pm

Kelly, I am also honored to be your friend. You’ve got much to inspire me on. Your free spirit is endearing and illuminating!

I’m also happy that you are choosing to spend a lovely day with your son and being joyful. Knowing your plans is already brightening mine!

Thank you for also joining me whether it is for blessing lightworkers or just cultivating gratitude for the abundance that we enjoy right this moment.

Evelyn September 15, 2008 at 9:09 pm

Hello Karen,

I didn’t think that anyone will notice what I’ve been doing round the blogosphere :-) So thanks! I accept your blessings graciously.

I love what you are saying about your intentions. What you aspire to be and do will, no doubt, be very nurturing to your soul. I am sure that all those who come to know and be near you will feel the warmth of your love, kindness and compassion.

Much blessings to you – Always!
Evelyn

Marelisa September 15, 2008 at 9:20 pm

Namaste Evelyn. I love the photograph of the Angel at the top channeling healing energy on the field. I’m a second degree Reiki practitioner and this photograph made me think of healing Reiki energy. Thank you for including us in your prayers :-)

Robin September 15, 2008 at 10:17 pm

Blessings to you too, Evelyn! It’s been a pleasure for me to get to know you (we’re only a quarter of the way around the world apart, over here.) x

Evelyn September 16, 2008 at 12:51 am

@Marelisa, I love the picture too. It’s a lovely depiction of an angel watching over us.

@Robin, I just went to your profile page again to check. Oh yes…you are only a quarter away from me. I’ve been to Melbourne before. It’s so eclectic! I had a wonderful time visiting my brother who was studying there in the University then.

Barbara Swafford September 16, 2008 at 1:54 am

Hi Evelyn,

First off. I love the video. The music and photographes are beautiful. Like you, I’m also going to buy the CD.

That is so kind of you to send out blessings to all of the bloggers. As you know, “thousands of candles can be lit with a single one”, and by shedding light on us, it shines back on you…a wonderful cyberspace friend. :)

Irene | Light Beckons September 16, 2008 at 3:03 am

Hey Evelyn,

I’m reading this at work, and for some reason the video doesn’t work, but I’ll check it out again when I get home.

I feel very blessed to have you as a friend! I’m luckier than most other bloggers here … I actually get to meet you face-to-face here in Singapore, yay! :D

The one thing I can do today to heal myself — gratitude. The simple act of counting my blessings has done wonders for me.

Love and Light to all!

Evelyn September 16, 2008 at 3:39 am

Barbara, I’m glad that you like the video and are going to buy the CD. There are a couple of other tracks in the album “earthsongs” that are quite lovely too. If you like Secret Garden’s music in general, then you won’t regret your purchase.

Thanks for sending me well wishes too! I believe that bloggers, especially those (such as yours :-) ) who are dedicated to teaching and bringing relevant and useful content, are providing an excellent service to the community. I guess one of the best ways I can help “support” my group of friends is by sending them loving and healing thoughts.

You’ve been a wonderful cyberspace friend to me too! Who knows…we may just meet one day…LOL!! My travel wishes generally come true for me.

Much blessings to you always!
Evelyn

Evelyn September 16, 2008 at 3:48 am

Irene, do check out the video when you get home. Now when I think about it…my guess is that you’d like the song too..since we seem to share similar interests and likes!

I laughed when I read your comment. I recalled you saying that you would never agree to meet a stranger previously; but amazingly, you decided to say “yes” to us meeting. On our own, we had separately used the Law of Attraction and our guides to “attract” each other. So meeting seemed like a natural step.

I know that you are pretty busy at work; so do contact me for another all girls’ night out! Dial my hotline number…LOL!! I’m sure we’re going to have a blast!

Chat soon and take care in the meantime,
Evelyn

Stacey / CreateaBalance September 16, 2008 at 9:35 am

Evelyn, May you always feel abundantly blessed. I feel blessed to know you.

Today I start a healing writing/art class. Although we aren’t supposed to comment on other people’s work, I will pass along nonverbal blessings to the individuals in my class.

Evelyn September 16, 2008 at 9:48 am

Hello Stacey,

Thanks for your blessings! I am also happy to have a friend in you!

Wish I can be there in the healing writing/art class. It sounds like it’s going to be fun!

Love & light,
Evelyn

Andrea Hess|Empowered Soul September 16, 2008 at 10:01 am

Beautiful article, Evelyn. It’s wonderful to bless the people we love, the people who inspire us and uplift us. I also like to challenge myself to bless the people who cut me off in traffic, the telemarketers who call … I find this so incredibly healing, it’s “almost” selfish. It dispels all negative self-talk immediately.

Blessings, blessings, blessings,
Andrea

Melissa September 16, 2008 at 11:48 am

I can see myself through the eyes of my daughter and know that I am beautiful.

Evelyn September 16, 2008 at 7:36 pm

Hi Andrea, you’ve just inspired me to do the same about sending good thoughts to those who irritate, annoy or frustrate us. *Laughing* and for selfish reasons too!!

Much blessings to you – Always!
Evelyn

Evelyn September 16, 2008 at 7:38 pm

Melissa, you are beautiful… and I am “seeing” you with my own eyes!!

With love and blessings,
Evelyn

Lance September 16, 2008 at 9:14 pm

What a wonderful way to share this video and hold us all up in prayer – thank you Evelyn. You truly are a friend, and I appreciate that more than you know.

Today I can continue to work toward taking better care of my physical body – in the things that I feed it. To pass on some blessings, I will spend some time in prayer in the morning, for all of the friends I have – lifting them up to their higher calling.

Pentad September 16, 2008 at 9:42 pm

I also find that commitment to healing is the key. Each time I have decided to let go of something, or am ready to heal……well, just that thought starts the process, although it is not always done in a day…it does begin, and we heal a little at a time. All depending on how much we are ready for at any given time.

Dr. Nicole Sundene September 17, 2008 at 1:50 am

Thanks for the blessings! What a wonderful surprise to find here. Blessings right back to you :D

Evelyn September 17, 2008 at 10:06 am

Lance, that is so lovely of you to pray for us so that we can all be lifted to a higher calling. Your prayer request is so beautiful! And since you have done that for me, I’d do the same for you tonight too before I go to bed.

Much blessings to you – Always!
Evelyn

Evelyn September 17, 2008 at 10:07 am

@Pentad, yes…all in good time! Much blessings to you!

@Dr Nicole Sundane, a warm welcome to you! Yes…blessings to you too!

New Age Bitch September 17, 2008 at 12:51 pm

“I am all that I am” means being present in the You That Is in this very moment. That runs counter to the thought of healing yourself, which implies that you are less than whole in this moment. Instead, focus on your own wholeness and perfection as you are right now. A subtle difference, perhaps, but an important one.

Evelyn September 17, 2008 at 7:41 pm

You have pointed out a difference, no doubt. “I am all that I am” is an aspiration. It is about me moving towards in alignment to my Higher Self (a Self that is complete and whole). It is what I choose to focus on.

In all reality, I am with flaws and imperfections. Who isn’t? But my practice is very much in challenging myself to be better each day and to wish well for others, such as yourself who has come to read this blog.

Natural September 18, 2008 at 3:23 pm

What One Single thing can you do today to heal yourself? Get better organized. I’m a nicer person to be around when there is order over chaos.

What can you also do to pass on some blessings? I’ve been doing acts of kindess most of the day at work, helping those that look rushed or swamped with work.

Evelyn September 18, 2008 at 7:19 pm

@Natural, it’s great to know that simply just being organized makes you feel better. I’d need a person like you around me as I am not.

If I am working in the same office as you, I’d also insist on having a desk next to you too…LOL!! I bet your colleagues and boss treasure you a lot! Wonderful!

Karen September 19, 2008 at 9:28 am

Thank you for all you have offered Evelyn. It has been so helpful to me. The video here is so beautiful. You are an inspiration. I forget how I came across your newsletter but it is a bright spot in my inbox nowadays. I’m very excited to learn about new posts you have for us. Grateful and happier every day…Blessings, Love and Light to you.
