Evelyn, I don’t know if I can add anything! As Kaushik noted, you have created a beautiful ‘pointer’ for us all with this post. And as you said, it can’t really be understood intellectually, can it? So it requires a poetic writer to convey it, and I am not really that:-) But I will say, that for me also, nature is a powerful catalyst for knowing myself as part of the ocean of consciousness…and that collapse between observer and observed is a true moment of seeing, beyond any spiritual practice or technique…

Hi Evelyn: That is an interesting thought. If you catch yourself having thoughts that are not conducive to feelings of happiness, and you tell yourself to stop unproductive thinking, who is telling you to stop having those thoughts? How can we both think about something and observe ourselves thinking it? Very interesting.

You said “the wall of thoughts and fear we build seemingly obscures it”. How true! Only when we are truly present, can we begin to experience the essential nature of awareness. At the same time, it is always there. The ever eternal, expanding, light-filled awareness.

@Jon, I like the picture of the terrapin too. Every time I look at it, it reminds me of the day when I have understood the message that came along with it.

@Eric, your comment about out sitting the turtle made me laugh too. I was definitely sitting there for a long time, hoping that the terrapin will move first. Well, the terrapin did a better job in sitting still!

I am pretty sure that God, pure awareness, source or whatever one wishes to call it will be pretty amused by the dramas that I put myself through. I trap myself in the same type of events. I never seem to move beyond until I decide to try to do things differently, with some level of awareness.
