On a twisted note, I always notice that when im not in gratitude that the universe seems to pull back all the things it has granted me.

NOW I'm very ON about being POSITIVE AND GRATEFUL.. Every time I feel like complaining, I restrain myself and get in the habit of having, how the people from THE SECRET say.. an ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE.

I'm grateful that after reading this post I've somewhat a point of reference and I'm quick to shift from being a whiner to a WINNER! :)

Hey Evelyn,

Thank you for these wonderful ways to center yourself in gratitude.

What I've been finding lately is that this stuff sounds great in theory, but it's only when you actually put it into practice that your life is like the ecstatic explosion of bliss and joy. It's amazing how fantastic life begins to feel when you relax and let go into a sense of authentic appreciation.

Sure it's a "duh" that this works better in practice than just reading the words and intellectualizing, but yeah, it's definitely much jucier when implemented, like all of spirituality it may seem. :)

Thanks again for putting together this wonderful site. All the commenters here make it so easy to branch out and find other valuable content. Your site is becoming a hub of loving awesomeness.

Thanks Evelyn,
A delightful post and truly uplifting and inspirational.
Unceasing gratitude for life is truly a profound gift. A friend of mine recently wrote that is why the "present" moment is truly a PRESENT.

Hi, Evelyn. I love this. While all you wrote is so helpful, I think everything is captured SO beautifully in these first statements: <i>"[Gratitude] is an energy that you exude every moment every single day. It is a positive uplifting sense of who you are and what you have."</i>

The incredible beauty of this feeling, when holding it and <i>recognizing</i> it, is the resulting peaceful happiness, the contentment that resonates within. Truly, life is so much more beautiful, and I think recognizing the action of being grateful is key. What a perfect reminder for our Thanksgiving holiday. Thank you!

That is why I love Thanksgiving so much. It is a time to truly reflect on what it is that we are thankful for. Though of course this is something we should do every day anyway, it's still nice to have a day that's set aside.

Gratitude is such a powerful practise. By being grateful we immediately shift from worry, doubt and fear. We begin to see that we are supported and that there is so much abundance around us. Of course, whatever the circumstances there is always something to be grateful for.
I find living in the NOW really useful. It stops my mind from worrying about the future. My focus is brought back into now, and all the anxiety just melts away.
It takes practise though to be able to express gratitude when things are not going as well as you would like. But it is the best thing we can ever do to help any situation.
